Hello everyone,

It is extremely unfortunate but I have lost my green card. I can�t seem to find it anywhere. I know that it has not been stolen, just lost! I need to apply for a replacement green card ASAP. I need to submit some initial documents along with my I-90 form for it. I have been trying to search on the internet regarding it but I can�t seem to find a clear answer.

Long story short, could somebody please tell me what initial documents are there to submit along with my I-90 form? I have a copy of my original green card, but is there anything else required? Am I required to submit my photos along with my form?

I would highly appreciate if someone could reply to my queries ASAP.

When my wife lost it, I sent the copy of the green card along with I-90. I also went to the local USCIS office to get the stamp of I-551 on her passport as well.

I believe they will schedule for fingerprinting and photo will be taken at that time. (eventually we did found her missing GC and cancelled the request and hence did not go through the entire process) :)

If you spend more than 1 year and if you do not have approved I140 then you will be subject to H1b quota. I am not sure about it but I heard about this

Hi,

My H1B Visa expires in Aug 2009 (it was after first extension, till date i have already consumed 3 years 6 months in US). I have following questions,

1. After filing the extension next month, Can I leave to India immediately after getting the receiept (before approval). I might plan to come back to US after a year or so! I will be working at offshore for the same company.

2. If i leave a gap of 365 days, would i regain full 6 years after my re-entry in USA with the existing Visa itself?

I am very sorry if this is a repeated question, i did spend ample time investigating this query and then decided to post this in a thread.

Had an Infopass appointment today VA, Washington Field Office, just wanted to share the experience here.

Had appiled I-485 last year August, and case was transferred to Vermont and then back to Texas, had
never received my FP notice. Received EAD and AP from Vermont last year.

It was a really nice experience as first lady confirmed/checked my Priority date is current, and was very helpful, she immediatly scheduled an FP appointment for my wife and myself for Sep.4th, though I did not
inquire much about my case, she provided me with all the details. My wife's name check got cleared last year and mine got cleared just this July 31st, she also said that recently tsc centre worked on my case, and probably did not do much as FP is missing, she said that currently my case in the records room and not in examination room. When asked after FP on Sep 4. any chances me getting approved, for follow-up she said call TSC after two weeks they should able give u all the details.

My priority date is in Oct 2005 (ROW) and yesterday was the 180th day after filing my I-485 application. I need some help in deciding if I should wait for the green card with my current employer or think of changing the job using AC21. Your suggestions will be really helpful.

Yes, she can come on H4 even she applied for I-485 , only if you are r still on H1B . If u or ur wife dont want to use EAD in near future then it is better to bring her on H4. otherwise coming back on H4 or AP does not make any difference.

What is the reason behind you saying 'case may be audited' for the OP. Just curious to check your side of thoughts.

Per lawyer, almost all EB2 cases are being audited (due to the harsh economic climate). DOL believes that if a job falls under Job Zone 5, then it requires enough preparation to justify a EB2 filing. If it falls under Job Zone 4, it's not "normal" and DOL would usually require a Business necessity letter.

Finally i went for option 2 i.e. Costco, they gave 2 2x2 photo's for $4.99 plus $2.99 for softcopy.

I could have saved $2.99 by scanning the photo's with scanner.

Anyways, its done now ..

There is one way to find out if CIR is any good for EB - by looking at the bill when it is proposed bill and amendments. It will be suicidal to assume that CIR is somehow bad for us, and incriminate any effort for CIR. My point earlier was not that CIR is bad for EB, but about the actual reason for Sen. Reid's recent comments, just to set the expectations straight.

i have a valid H1 visa on my passport till 14th dec 2007. yesterday i got the new I-797 with I-94(I-94 dates are mentioned as 15th Dec 2007 to 14th Dec 2010). Since my visa is expiring on 14th Dec 2007, I want to go for stamping before Dec 2007 to Nogales (i have some travel plans in Jan 2008). When can i go for(how soon) stamping. I have an approved I-140 from my previous employer. Is there anyway, I can expedite my labor certification, I-140 approval and I-485 through my new employer on the basis of the previous approvals? I have a PD of jan'04. I know I retain my PD due to the I-140 but I wanted to know if there is anyway to not wait for the time it takes to get approval on LC and I-140.
no labor is position dependent not person dependent. You cannot make it go faster based on earlier 140.

Hi All,

This is forum for LC Sub cases. I'm on last phase of my L1B(5 years would complete on 2009) so my company a large corp evaluted my case as fit for LC Sub and applied I-140 on July 4th and 485 on July 27.

I have no status on my I-140/485 or 131 since got the Receipts. Got EAD.

Even after my FP the case also was not updated.

Question:
If you have filed your I-140 LC Sub are you seeing any progress on your file?

If yes, which date your I-140 was applied?

Was that standaline or Join filing with I-485?

Which Service center is handling your case?
